With an area of 15990 km2 and a population of 774 100 inhabitants, Las Tunas has the production of sugar and the cattle raising activity as the main economic activities.
The province has recently opened more than 30 virgin beaches to the international tourism that gives a great potential for the development of this industry in this part of the country.
The main city is Las Tunas city, founded in 1759, and known today as the sculpting capital in Cuba with 70 monumental and environmental works.
